Helping to Accelerate a Client's Growth

SITUATION

A pharmaceutical company needed to expand from their initial launch in the pediatric market into the tougher-to-crack adult market. They had already tried sales reps and social media tactics, but were unsuccessful. Spinnaker recommended an approach documenting how patients’ quality of life had changed as a result of use of the new product.

OUR ROLE

The Spinnaker team assembled a panel of adult patients currently using the client’s product and conducted a longitudinal study using a proprietary platform to follow these patients over a four-month period​. During this time, we collected data on their quality of life pre- and post-prescribing of the client’s drug, carrying behavior and actual usage of the drug, and how the patient’s feelings about their chronic disease and ability to live a productive life had changed since being prescribed this medication​.

IMPACT

The quality of life improvements from use of this product were overwhelmingly positive and life-changing for these patients​. The client incorporated this data into their promotional programs, sales call plans, and digital advertising and experienced a significant sales increase​. The company plans to publish the current data, and expand the study with a larger sample size to transform this into a peer reviewed publication​.
